I love the word, Halleluyah..
Or halleluia, alleluia and all of the other ways it is spelled in various languages.
When I visited Israel, we had a tour guide who was Jewish.
He told us that this word means “Praise God,” but it carries a much deeper and broader sense:
It means, “Lavish praises upon praises upon praises to God.”
How rich is that!
When we were crossing the Sea of Gallilee, a couple of friends and I started singing “The Halleluia Refrain.”
Before long, everyone on the boat was singing, because it is known in so many different languages.
Later, when we visit the Upper Room in Jerusalem, a group from Norway began to sing this same song, so we had the pleasure of joining in with them.
Can you imagine what it will be like when all people and nations from around the world join the angels in this wonderful anthem?
Halleluyah! Halleluia! Alleluia! Amen!
