Lord, have mercy:
Loving Father, God Most High,
Thank You for Your great compassion.
Thank You for love that transcends every situation.
Thank You for understanding us so well.
Though You have the power to do anything,
Let Your lovingkindness prevail on us and our nation. Amen.
Christ, have mercy:
Anointed One of God, Savior of the world,
Thank You for Your profound sacrifice.
Thank You for redemption and healing.
Thank You for bringing us into the Household of God.
May Your finished work be manifest in our lives. Amen.
Lord, have mercy:
Lord of lords, King of kings,
May Your Kingdom be made known on Earth,
Until every sickness is banished,
Every injury is forgiven and healed,
Death is never seen again. Amen.
May the Light who came into the world shine in your heart;
May His love warm, cheer and strengthen you;
May His presence bring you all health and joy.
What does it mean to you;
How does it make a difference?
Knowing that God is ever present;
That He is the Almighty One
Who protects and provides?
Knowing God’s wisdom is infinite;
He sticks closer than a brother;
Who comforts and counsels?
Knowing that you are loved perfectly;
Now, in every way and forever;
He always draws you closer?
What does it mean to you?
How have you changed,
Being born of the Spirit;
A child in God’s household;
Son and daughter of the Most High?
In a word, everything;
Each heartbeat and breath;
All thoughts and feelings;
Expectancies and perceptions.
It means that in Him
We live and move;
In Him we have our being;
He is our Source and Goal.
To God be all glory;
Every song of praise;
Blessing and adoration;
To You, oh Lord;
To Your Name always!
Jesus, you are healer:
Every injury and disease
Of spirit, soul and body
Must yield to your loving hand.
Jesus, you are Savior:
Every part of darkness
That would seek to imprison
Shatters in your presence.
Jesus, you are Redeemer:
All things and every person
Who was hopelessly lost
Has been found and ransomed by you.
Jesus, you are my All in all:
Every day, thought, circumstance;
Even my very being
Is hidden in you.
Jesus, because you are God
And we belong to you,
We are new creations;
Vessels filled with your very presence.
I fix my eyes, oh Lord,
On things unseen:
The reality of your kingdom;
That for Eternity will be.
I set my mind, oh Lord,
On things above:
Where my life remains hidden in you;
Enfolded in your precious love.
I set my heart, oh Lord,
On who you are:
Savior, Redeemer, Healer and King;
Most brightly shining morning star.
I lay my all, oh Lord,
Before your throne:
As a sacrifice of devotion;
I serve and worship you alone.
One day, many years ago, I died.
Jesus came into my heart and I was born again. My life is now hidden in Him.
My old self was removed; I was given new clothes: Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, love; a garment of praise, beauty for ashes, a crown of joy.
Now, as a daughter of the Most High, a member of Christ’s Body, I live a life that is different from the world. Instead of holding grudges or getting revenge, I forgive. Peace rules my heart; anger, worry, bitterness and malice have no place there. Society’s values no longer govern my thinking and choices; God’s commandments are my foundation.
I, along with all of my brothers and sisters in Christ, am different; set apart to be and live like Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
This is the way of Your people, oh God, by Your grace. Amen.
Based on verses in Colossians 3:
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly
as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Jesus, my hope is in you alone.
I put my trust fully in you.
I have confidence in your unfailing love
That governs all you do.
Jesus, no matter what others say;
Their predictions of gloom and doom,
I choose to believe what you alone have said;
Leaving despair no room.
Jesus, my faith is anchored in you;
Your reality what I know.
Though worries and fears do their best to get me,
I love and trust you so!
That your light will shine so brightly, all darkness flees before you.
That your love will cast out all fear.
That your hope, peace and joy will cheer every heart.
That hatred, bigotry, bitterness, abuse and violence will be banished forever.
That your healing presence will restore people and nations in every way.
That you will be exalted and glorified in all the Earth.
That all people will draw together in unity as they submit to you.
That your will is done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.
