What Does It Mean?

What does it mean to you;
How does it make a difference?
Knowing that God is ever present;
That He is the Almighty One
Who protects and provides?

Knowing God’s wisdom is  infinite;
He sticks closer than a brother;
Who comforts and counsels?

Knowing that you are loved perfectly;
Now, in every way and forever;
He always draws you closer?

What does it mean to you?
How have you changed,
Being born of the Spirit;
A child in God’s household;
Son and daughter of the Most High?

In a word, everything;
Each heartbeat and breath;
All thoughts and feelings;
Expectancies and perceptions.

It means that in Him
We live and move;
In Him we have our being;
He is our Source and Goal.

To God be all glory;
Every song of praise;
Blessing and adoration;
To You, oh Lord;
To Your Name always!

Jesus, you are healer:
Every injury and disease
Of spirit, soul and body
Must yield to your loving hand.

Jesus, you are Savior:
Every part of darkness
That would seek to imprison
Shatters in your presence.

Jesus, you are Redeemer:
All things and every person
Who was hopelessly lost
Has been found and ransomed by you.

Jesus, you are my All in all:
Every day, thought, circumstance;
Even my very being
Is hidden in you.

Jesus, because you are God
And we belong to you,
We are new creations;
Vessels filled with your very presence.

Thank you.

Warm sun and soft breezes;
Magnificent days;
Times when cold eases:
These are worthy of praise.
Good friends and companions
Affectionate ways;
Time spent with loved ones:
These are worthy of praise.
God’s love and faithfulness;
His mercy and grace;
All that blesses us:
These are worthy of praise.
Lord teach us to ponder
Your goodness always;
The joy and wonder
That is worthy of praise.

Excellence calls us to be our best:
To immitate God
In how we live,
Who we are,
What we give.
Excellence sets the standard higher
According to God,
His living Word,
Birthed in us;
Seen and heard.

Excellence directs our eyes to Him:
The Most Holy One;
Worthy of praise
and worship
All our days.

I will praise You, oh Lord!
I choose to acknowledge Your goodness,
Even when everything
And everyone around me
Challenge that reality.

My praise might be quiet,
Tinged with doubt, confusion or sorrow;
In tones of blue and gray
As confidence and hope wane;
I will declare Your goodness.

My song rises to you;
I will praise You with a joyful heart
When prosperity reigns
And I experience peace;
You are good in all seasons!

You have put a new song of praise in our mouths.
We will sing to you all our lives, as long as we have breath.
We will praise you when we gather
We will sing a new song to you from the ends of the earth, from the mountaintops and the depths of the sea.

Take time to listen;
What will you hear?
A gentle love song,
Sung softly and clear.

New every morning,
Echoed at night
As it fills your heart
With peace and delight.

Take time to notice;
What will you see?
Evidence of love,
Signs of God’s glory.

All of creation
Tells of his ways;
His mercy and love;
To him be all praise!

A new description of hope came to me this morning:  Confident expectancy.
With that in mind, here is a poem:

Because God is good;
Because He loves us so;
We have every confidence;
We truly know
Every perfect gift
is presented to us by Him,
Until our expectancy grows brighter,
Never becoming dim.

Trusting in God’s love;
Walking in His great light;
We receive His providence;
All that is right
As His dear children;
We are treasured and blessed each day;
Until we see His glory
And reflect Jesus in every way.

oh God is our Hope;
His faithfulness is true;
We respond with gratitude
In all we do.
Expressions of joy
Are like streams that flow from our souls;
Bubbling up in our delight,
Songs of praise and hope that ever grows.

For every blessing
You pour out
Because of love so true;
In grace addressing
Every doubt,
Till faith brings us to You.

For hearts of gladness
Filled by You,
Till we can’t help but sing;
Of all the endless
Things You do;
We soar on eagles’ wings.

In celebration
We rejoice
And give You thanks today;
With great affection,
Raise our voice
To glorify Your Name.

In the past couple of years, I have learned about the importance of declarations.

Unlike affirmations, which are usually meant to convince us of something that is not yet true, declarations are all about proclaiming the truth of God’s Kingdom.

Here are some verses to encourage you in this:

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.  1 Chronicles 16:24

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Psalm 19:1

I will declare your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise you. psalm 22:22

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. Psalm 51:15

Since my youth, O God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Psalm 71:17

I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself. Psalm 82:9

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. Psalm 96:3

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.  1 Peter 2:9

All praise and glory to God!
